I used to pet-sit for a diabetic cat. She was remarkably calm when I gave her shots once or twice a day. Never a struggle or a problem. I'm not sure what kind of diet she was on, but I think I remember having to feed the two cats in the house different types of food. So while I'm sure it's stressful, I think and hope it's manageable for you. Good luck!
